Rainbow sheep and alpacas at Peacock's Farm in the Lake District

    Peacock’s Farm · Staveley, Cumbria

Hi, I’m Andrew — welcome to Peacock’s Farm

A family farm in the heart of the Lake District, home of the famous Rainbow Sheep, wild camping, farm events and our meat boxes.

Andrew Peacock, farmer at Peacock's Farm

    The farm

A small family farm that grew into something bigger

Peacock’s Farm sits in the rolling hills near Staveley, surrounded by some of England’s most beautiful countryside. What started as a small family farm has grown into something much bigger than I ever imagined.

The farm has been in the family for generations. It became known for camping, family experiences and our famous rainbow sheep, with people travelling from across the country to meet the animals, enjoy the countryside and see how a real working farm runs.

But behind everything we’ve built has always been one simple passion — farming. I’ve always believed that people should know where their food comes from. In today’s world it’s easy to lose that connection, and I wanted to help bring it back with food you can buy with confidence.

    More than just farming

“Where can we buy proper local meat?”

Over the years I’ve spoken to hundreds of visitors, and that question kept coming up. People wanted more than something wrapped in plastic on a supermarket shelf. They wanted quality, flavour and traceability — to know the story behind the food they were feeding their families. That conversation became the inspiration behind Peacock’s Farm Meat Boxes.

    Peacock’s Farm Meat Boxes

Why we started the meat boxes

The meat boxes were created with one simple goal: to offer quality British pork, beef and chicken that we’re proud to put our name to. Every product carrying the Peacock’s Farm name has been carefully chosen for its quality, provenance and complete traceability.

Our sausages are handmade in small batches using traditional methods, prepared by skilled butchers from recipes that celebrate proper British farming and quality ingredients. Good food doesn’t need unnecessary shortcuts — it needs quality ingredients, skilled craftsmanship and people who genuinely care.

    Home of the Rainbow Sheep

The Lake District’s most colourful flock

Our rainbow-coloured sheep have become local celebrities. Using animal-safe, non-toxic dye, the flock sports vibrant colours that bring joy to visitors of all ages. They’ve been featured in national media and are a favourite with photographers — completely happy and healthy, with the dye washing out naturally over time. They’ve become symbols of our philosophy: that life should be colourful, joyful and a little bit different.
